Sodium azide is an inhbitor of cytochrome c oxidase (COX, CcO).

Application in HRR
Azd: Azide (Sodium azide, NaN3); Sigma S2002, SDS 25 g, store commercial stock at RT; FW = 65.01.
Caution: Very toxic!
Preparation of 4 M storage and stock solution (dissolved in H2O):
- 1) Weigh 260 mg of sodium azide.
- 2) Dissolve in 1 mL H20.
- 3) Divide into 0.5 mL portions.
- 4) Store at -20 ยฐC.
