Mitochondrial density

Description

Specific mitochondrial density is D_mtE = mtE·m_X^-1 [mtEU·kg^-1]. If the amount of mitochondria, mtE, is expressed as mitochondrial mass, then D_mtE is the mass fraction of mitochondria in the sample. If mtE is expressed as mitochondrial volume, V_mt, and the mass of sample, m_X, is replaced by volume of sample, V_X, then D_mtE is the volume fraction of mitochondria in the sample.
