Murine macrophage-derived cell lines: RAW 264.7, AMJ2-C11 (pulmonary alveolus of lungs)

Culture medium: Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium (DMEM) - adherent growth

Peritoneal macrophages are distinct from monocytes and adherent macrophages.: In situ, they are non-adherent and upon culturing, they adhere and function as scavengers of modified lipoproteins and dead apoptotic cells. They also produce growth factors.
